Music For Everyone, a Lancaster-based non-profit charitable organization that raises money for music programs for schools and community groups throughout Lancaster County, is pleased to present the "Keys for the City" exhibit in Lancaster, PA.

The organization has partnered with Society of Design, Mayor's Office of Special Events, and the City of Lancaster to orchestrate an interactive exhibit featuring up to twenty custom-designed pianos, each sponsored by a local business. The pianos will be displayed throughout the city at various hot spots and sidewalk locations, and will be accessible to the public 24/7.

The objective of the Keys for the City project is to foster creativity and a sense of community among the general public and to raise awareness for local music and visual arts education initiatives.

"The pianos are intended to engage the public by inspiring people to stop and strike a few keys or play an entire piece," said John Gerdy, president of Music For Everyone. "This project is a literal expression of what this organization is about – Music For Everyone."

The Keys for the City project kicks off during Music Friday on May 21, 2010 with an opening concert in Lancaster Square. Subsequent events are scheduled at the same location every Music Friday through September, each from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Beer, wine and food will be available for purchase at all Music Friday events. Admission is free and open to the public.
